The prologue needs work I think. I seriously doubt that monsters would easily overrun humanity without getting cut to pieces due to our advanced military arsenal. And that’s not even including Nuclear weapons. Things like railguns (yes, we have them), armor piercing rounds or depleted Uranium rounds would drop hundreds of monsters with no effort. Explosive devices like C-4, Bazookas, grenade guns, and rocket launchers would also do good work against them. Do I even need to mention Incendiary weapons like flamethrowers? Point is the prologue could use a better explanation as to why this “stampede” of sorts caught humanity by surprise without so much as a single retaliatory strike from us.
