Summary
Tomodachi Game
by Katagiri Yuichi values his friendships greater than money, though he comprehends the difficulties of lacking sufficient funds. He works assiduously to save for the high school trip because he promised his four best friends they would all go together. However, after collecting the class’s money, it was stolen! Suspicion fell on two friends, Sawaragi Shiho and Shibe Makoto. Thereafter, the five were kidnapped and awoke in a strange room with a character from a short-lived anime. Seemingly, one entered them into a “friendship game” to pay an enormous debt. But who was it, and why did they have such a debt? Could they have stolen the money to pay for entering the game?
To elaborate, in this manga, Katagiri and his best friends will have to succeed in psychological games that will test or shatter their faith in one another. Subsequent to waking, a self-proclaimed game master acquaints them with the rules. They must decipher mysteries and survive perilous trials grounded on their fellowship and teamwork. Failure to do so within a time limit would outcome in grave consequences.
At first, the challenges seem simple enough, but soon spiral into confrontations that dredge up their deepest secrets and insecurities, calling into question the very foundation of their friendships. With the clock ticking down, feelings of distrust and betrayal spread like poison.
Katagiri struggles to rally their flagging spirits while grappling with his own private doubts. He knows that only by rediscovering the true meaning of “tomodachi” can they prevail and escape this sinister game with their bonds intact. But the game master has a final twist in store that will shake them to their core and seal their fate…
